Hydrate - we lose on average 2.5 litres of water per day, and we need to replenish what we lose especially throughout summer as we lose more water due to sweating. Good hydration enables, mental alertness (improves ability to concentrate), improved digestion, and great for the Christmas day feast!
Get outside and enjoy the sun - Just 10 minutes, 2-3 times per week to get your dose of vitamin D. Vitamin D's primary role is to support the development and maintenance of bones and teeth as well as many other health benefits.
Antioxidants are key for a healthy summer. Not only are antioxidants crucial for decreasing stress and fighting free radicals, they are also important for detoxing the body…especially after a late night. Super greens are also known for detoxing the blood and liver, which is great tonic for relieving any hangover symptoms.
Eat fruit to stay hydrated. Besides water, certain fruit and vegetables also fulfil your fluid requirements in addition to providing healthful nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, fibre and protein. Such as watermelon and strawberries.
Keep up your Myotherapy and rehab exercises when you are on holidays. We want you to be feeling your best while enjoying your summer break - a perfect time to come in for a treatment to make sure you can enjoy your holidays pain free!

If you’re feeling a little stiff and low in energy, then stretching can be so beneficial for your body and your mind.
A study at the University of Illinois found that when people followed a stretching programme they experienced a boost in their self-esteem. “Stretching releases dopamine which helps you feel happier and more positive about the world,”
“When muscles stay still the blood pools in the muscles, which makes you feel tired and sluggish,”……. “As soon as you move, you nourish the muscles which improves your concentration levels as your brain gets blood flow. By moving away from your desk every twenty minutes or so, is enough to help relieve fatigue." Dr Simon Floreani, Ambassador for Allied.

As a busy Myotherapist nutrition is so important to me. I need the fuel to treat patient after patient. It’s hard to find the time each week to shop, prepare and cook healthy meals. So I tried 5.4 meals as a friend of mine who was recovering from a major heart attack wanted to make some healthy changes to his lifestyle.
It has given me back 5-6 hours a week that I would have been normally spent in the kitchen. It has given me an extra morning in the gym and more time to spending doing the things I enjoy outside of my work timetable. For around the same cost as your groceries, you can have healthy meals delivered to your home or workplace.
I have also found that my body fat percentage has dropped and my energy never dips throughout the day like it used to.
Please feel free to ask me any questions next time your in for a treatment or email me joel@my-myo.com.au
